If you haven't yet, and you actually still read books, take a look at the great Merlin series by Mary Stewart. Told from the perspective of Merlin, it starts when he a young boy in the house of his grandfather, a minor king in Wales. The tale is not very historically accurate, but it makes an incredible read, even after I read it twenty year ago in high school. This tale resonated through me even more than it did when I was a kid. I very worthy read, and a series that deserves an honored place on my bookshelves along with The Lord of the Rings.
